UBA ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGES: APPOINTS CHUKWUMA NWEKE MANAGING DIRECTOR
The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced significant changes to its Board of Directors, appointing Mr. Chukwuma Nweke as its new Managing Director, effective October 1, 2024. This development was disclosed in a statement submitted to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) by the bank's secretary and legal counsel, Bili Odum.
The statement also revealed the impending retirement of Dr. Kayode Fasola, a Non-Executive Director, marking the end of his tenure with the bank. UBA extended its appreciation to Dr. Fasola for his contributions to the bank's growth and success.
Mr. Nweke’s appointment as Deputy Managing Director is pending regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a standard procedure for such executive positions.
This leadership reshuffle is expected to strengthen UBA’s strategic direction and operational efficiency as the bank continues to play a pivotal role in Africa’s financial landscape.
