Housemaid Confesses To Selling Employer’s Baby For N800k After Daring Escape In Ikorodu
A Nigerian Housemaid identified as Ruth Okezie has been arrested after absconding and selling her employer’s baby for the sum of N800K.
According to reports, Ruth kidnapped the child and vacated the property of her employer at around midnight on Saturday, February 2024 in the Shomolu area of Lagos State.
The househelp who hailed from Abia State was said to have been employed through an agency four days before the kidnapping of the child.
In a series of posts via the X platform, friends and family of the abducted child published the face of Ruth Okezie, while pleading to the general public for any useful information.
In an update barely 24-hours later, the househelp was nabbed somewhere in Ikorodu where she admitted to the kidnapping accusations.
According to reports, she sold the baby for N800K and the 7-months-old child’s whereabouts remain unknown.
In a post via X, an influencer @Danysleek penned;
“My wife got a call this morning from her friend that her baby was kidnapped by a maid that they got through an agency 4days ago.
Maid’s name is Ruth Okezie from Abia state. The baby was kidnapped in the early hours of today 3/02/2024. If seen, please call 08055575737.
She left the premises of Shomolu around 1am/2am with the baby this morning.”
In an update, he added;
“Update: My wife just called to tell me the maid has been found, she was found in Ikorodu. She said she gave the baby to someone. Eye witness say the maid was acting as if she was hypnotized, she might just be putting up the act. We’re praying for the baby to be found next.🙏🏾”
