LIRS DESERVES THE BEST AT THIS TIME
WITH recent happenings in the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service LIRS,We assume Mr Ayodele Subair who refuses to ensure flexibility as against adamant nature which will not make rather mar the entire system in the LIRS will have a rethink and ensure second chance for the workforce through more training as against severe sanction through Promotion.
It should be reiterated that sequence to the statement in the recent publication that someone is persistent to ruin and stain Mr Ayodele Subair's integrity, which he has built over the last two decades, not at all, but, to be humane in his pragmatic approach as against imposition of personal agenda.
In the Developmental Media Theory, development is all encompassing. It embraces invoivement and participation of everyone in question. No Government can develop any community without the participation and acceptance of the community involved. DEVELOPMENT is not in a haste.
What kind of unwavering commitment to staff welfare with a view to enhancing the capacity of its workforce to meet the demands of 21st-century taxation when the Subair-led LIRS administration’s strategy is one-sided and adamant in nature The morale of enthusiastic staff members are jeopardized. Why should 55 percent be promoted claiming to pass in CBT and 55percent and above on the other side are not promoted because they passed less than the required point in CBT as against promotion- based aggregate as done before now adding that all concerted efforts by prominent figures including Obas to creat checks and balances, turned to deaf ears.
In other to enhance competence and merit and to banishing nepotism, it is advisable for Mr Ayodele to invest more on training to aid teaching/ learning process as against indoctrination and stop to play with Lagos State 'Pot of Stew' to demoralise the everconscious and highly committed and dedicated staffers.
With this affecting -lives issue, Mr Ayodele Subair has since Friday, 25th November, travelled out of the country, leaving things on the vagary of uncertainty. No body is trying to tarnish image rather to stop chessboard game on workers' promotion.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, of Lagos State and other stakeholders are called upon to see to commonsensical issues. "You promoted 55 percent "CBT' based., You did not promote 60 and above aggregate". Mr Subair, Haha! You can't do it all alone, you require good performances from these workers to get your managerial accolades. Try to understand the point we are making and eschew radicalism as bane, and embrace gradualism.
IS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE LAGOS STATE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE (LIRS), MR HAMZAT AYODELE SUBAIR REALLY WORKING FOR THE OPPOSITION PARTY IN LAGOS?
Sequel to the protest that trailed the recent promotion of the agency, rumour has been flying around concerning the rigidity of Mr. Subair on the matter. concerned Lagosians are now connecting the dots:
1. The agency's promotion exercise is normally conducted much earlier than this year's exercise, DID MR SUBAIR DELIBERATELY DELAY THE EXERCISE; SO THAT IT WOULD TAKE PLACE RIGHT DURING THE 2023 ELECTIONEERING CAMPAIGN?
2. His rigidity and seeming unperturbed stand on the matter further fueled the rumour, especially after he refused to shift even after the interventions of notable personalities within the Public Service, including the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri Okunola, and other bigwigs within the political corridor have all failed to frighten the intransigent Chairman to change his mind.
3. The third reason why this rumour is getting stronger is that people have been wondering how a public servant heading a sensitive agency at a sensitive time like this, can remain obstinate, on a matter that will not personally cost him a dime if implemented, even with all the image damaging writeups (not only damaging to him but to also his Ogas, by manufacturing fresh points for the Opposition parties to strengthen their campaign against the ruling party) flying all over the internet.
4. People are drawing conclusions that this rumour might have some credibility because with reports that a member of staff went straight into a coma, others have been demonstrating some tendencies of depression immediately after the result of the obnoxious CBT exam was released, unconfirmed reports have it that most of his lieutenants have been grumbling that most of their very good hands did not get promoted. Yet, he has simply turned a deaf ear.
Curiously, the-power-that-be has been unable to give a specific but favourable directive on the matter or is he flaunting the order, not minding the worst-case scenario? That will be laying more credence to the rumour; that he is working for the opposition party.
The silence of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might be understandable, his table is full. Otherwise, the guy is threatening to rubbish one of his best legacies.
But what about Mr Governor, His Excellency Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu, who incidentally is seeking re-election? He is known to be very empathetic, making his own silence to be very worrisome. It is my hope that this will make the governor do something positive about this matter so that we can move on.
