We Found An Abandoned Baby But People Have Been Coming To Us For Adoption - SP Benjamin Hundeyin

The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has taken to his verified Twitter account to share the photo of a baby girl who was abandoned by some unknown person. According to the tweet shared by the police officer, he said that the baby was found on the morning of July 3, 2022.

The officer added that when the baby was found, there was a pinned note of information on the her. The information, according to Hundeyin, includes the baby's name, her date of birth and her mother's first name. The police officer, however, added that some good samaritans have been coming to the police station requesting that they want to adopt the baby.

In regard to the adoption request, Hundeyin said that there are processes that must be followed before a baby can be given out for adoption. While concluding his tweet, the Police officer asked why anyone would throw away a child?

The tweet generated a lot of reactions on social media as many people were shocked by the news. One of the people who reacted to the news said that the same babies some families are looking for, others are abandoning.

Another Twitter user who was also surprised by the news said that the person who abandoned the baby might not be capable of caring for the baby and that the person might have stayed around until someone picked the baby. The user also mentioned that the person might have left the note for a reason.
